Tunnel Hill Community Church continues to be devoted to local and international missions. As an independent church, we now have the freedom and flexibility to support the mission organizations of our own choosing. Therefore, last month, members of THCC’s Missions Committee discussed and identified the mission organizations listed below that we will be supporting as a church.
Funds have already been given to support these agencies this year and additional funds are being allocated to support them next year as well. In addition to supporting these organizations financially as a church, we also encourage all of our members to pick one or more of them to support by volunteering. Know that when you support THCC, you are also supporting all of these organizations.
LOCAL MISSION ORGANIZATIONS
- Soul Station – Local Thrift Store & Food Pantry serving families in our community.
- Doc Up – Offers classes for basic life skills, short-term financial assistance for rent, utility payments, and minor prescription costs.
- Sharing is Caring – Multi-agency ministry that helps to provide Christmas assistance/gifts to families all across Whitfield County.
- Angel Fund – Offers assistance at Christmas to families at Tunnel Hill Elementary School.
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Provides beds for kids in North Georgia and Southern Tennessee.
- Rebuilding Hope – Provides home repairs, coordinates disaster relief, and hosts mission teams working in Whitfield County.
- Dalton Greater Works – Homeless Day Center and Food Pantry located in Dalton.
- Grace & Joy House of Dalton – Provides a safe place for children who have been traumatized to meet with case workers. Also offers a clothes closet/supplies for foster families.
- Compassion House – Provides a safe place for families to meet & receive help, counseling, and support when children have been removed from home. Assists 300+ families per month.
- Global Youth Ministries – Christian Retreat / Mission Training Center for Youth & Young Adults located on Ft. Mountain. Offers youth camps & trains youth pastors & missionaries.
- Providence Addiction Treatment Programs – Master’s Camp for Men & Recovery Group for Women.
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) – Works to provide Christian Club Meetings in local area schools and Dalton State University. Also provides mentors (Character Coaches) to sports teams. Devoted to sharing the gospel with the youth in our community.
- A Place Called Hope – Christian Addiction Rehabilitation Program for Men in Dalton.
- THCC Home Repair Team – A group from THCC that provides repairs, ramps, handrails, etc.
INTERNATIONAL MISSION ORGANIZATIONS
- Samaritan’s Purse / Operation Christmas Child – Provides shoeboxes filled with goodies and the gospel message to children all over the world.
- Live2540 / Jesus Loves Me Clinic – An agency based in Cartersville that is building a Christian Health Clinic for Children and families in a remote part of Liberia, West Africa.
- Gideons International – Works to make Bibles available to people all over the world.
- Mission Trip Fund – A fund within THCC that helps cover some of the cost for members going on international mission trips.
